I lost both grandparents, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and in laws to the "bad word" Cancer. None of us know if that fait awaits us. You can eat right and exercise daily and still find yourself in the battle of a lifetime.  It seems so unfair that good people who lived good productive lives have to meet a fait such as that. I worry sometimes if that fate awaits me. I don't always eat the right thing and although I exercise I don't on a regular basis. But even then there is no guarantee. Today, an in-law of mine is being buried, yet another victim of this random disease. It makes me sad to know that you can live right and still meet a cruel fait such as cancer.  My heart goes out to all those who have been touched by this disease. My thoughts and prayers are with you always...

IT'S NEVER EASY

While sitting at lunch today I said, "I would be afraid of any deal that was easy". It seemed like a crazy thing to say.  Wouldn't we want deals to be easy? I'm so used to things being hard to accomplish that it feels unnatural when they are easy.  I become suspicious.  I can't make the general proclamation that all deals should be difficult but i do believe in the old saying, you get what you pay for.  If you work hard to get a deal done it's obviously something you really believe in and when you are willing to give it everything you have it does feel like a light burden has been lifted when it's finally complete. If you get the deal that light burden is typically followed by a small, silent sense of achievement, that makes it all worth while.

What's Right To You

Sometimes what's right to you is not right for others however it doesn't make it wrong. In life we find ourselves making adjustments in what we feel is right because others make us feel like it's wrong. It's hard to stand up for what you believe in and never waiver when being attacked. I think those are the times when our character takes shape. The times when we workout our faith not only in the creator but in ourselves. Standup for what you feel is right so if you fall you'll have the comfort in knowing you fell believing what was right to you.

Comedy After Dark was originally scheduled to take place in February. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we we forced to reschedule to March 18-21. Comedy After Dark will feature the brightest, funniest comics hand picked by me and will be hosted by the most beautiful women in the world.  Trina, Jenna Jameson, Rosa Acosta & Carolina Catalino. Music will be provided by the one and only DJ Khaled.  This event is sure to go down as one of the most exciting and provocative comedy events in history. It's a big risk for me with a reputation for producing comedy classics like Original Kings of Comedy, Queens of Comedy, and Latham Entertainment Presents to name a few.  However with the ever changing landscape of media I am aware that you have to open your mind in order to grow. I am going to give it my best and hope that fans of my work, and of the talent will embrace it as they have everything we've done in the past.

Today comedian Damon Williams tweeted me the actual photo of Bernie's own street and I must admit I got a little emotional. I didn't attend his funeral because I don't go to funerals so I guess seeing this finally made his passing real to me.  I learned so much from him and worked with him since I was 22 years old. I accomplished one of my greatest achievements with him. He was always kind and straight ti the point. He worked in Hollywood but there was no Hollywood bullshit in him.  That's why he always returned to Chi-town whenever possible.

I've worked with them all and believe me Bernie was one of a kind.  I miss you.

Fair

We use the word "fair" a lot in life usually to acknowledge wrong doing to us. That's not fair or is that fair? Well my question is how do you define fair? Is fair being able to live another day to experience what my or may not be fair? Is fair having a loved one not waking up to experience this day. They didn't do anything wrong. As I've grown older I've began to realize that fair has it's place and that's typically not in everyday life. Fair applies when it comes to sports or games. Life. to me is more like, life.  Instead of saying that is or isn't fair, I prefer to say, that's life.
